Who does what ...

Our news staff consists of about a dozen people, each with specific responsibilities. If you are wondering who does what, or looking for a contact for an article, here's a rundown: Megan Feddersen covers the city of Fairmont, as well as local businesses and the medical community. Sarah Day works the Blue Earth beat, covering everything from Faribault County, to the city of Blue Earth, to Blue Earth Area schools. She also covers towns like Winnebago and Elmore. Jennifer Brookens covers courts and cops and Martin County commissioners. She also works on stories in western Martin County and northern Iowa. Christine Rupp covers the city of Truman and its schools. She also covers Granada-Huntley-East Chain schools. Our agriculture and education reporter, Bill Cahalan, recently passed away. We are searching for someone to assume his duties. Kylie Saari is covering Fairmont education right now and always looking for interesting feature stories. Charlie Sorrells and Jason Wilcox cover sports throughout the area. Charlie is the sports editor. Chip Pearson and Lori Peters are our photographers. If you have a possible photo opportunity, you can call Chip at the Sentinel (507) 235-3303. Lori shoots sports, and helps with news photos on the weekends. You can reach our reporters via email at news@fairmontsentinel.com. Or call the Sentinel at (800) 598-5597, or 235-3303. Remember, our reporters not only cover hard news on their beats, but also are interested in feature story ideas you may have. If you have questions about community page items or other possible items to include in the Sentinel, you can speak to Val Manning, our news clerk, or myself. My email is editor@fairmontsentinel.com
