| | Still chilled...March 20, 2013 - Jennifer BrookensWell, it's the first day of spring, and we'll be lucky to hit 20-degrees today. And no end of the winter weather in sight. The words I'm really feeling about it would be censored by our Web site, so I might as well put some asterisks down... **** *** *** ** ****** ****** **** * * ******** *** * **** ***!! Nope. Just not the same... The frustration is being felt by most everyone, even from the winter fans who can no longer ice fish or are losing their snowmobiling snow. My kids are willing to try to go outside when the sun's out, but they only last for about three minutes. Inside, they fight. It's to the point The Girl has taken residence behind one of the couches like the paranoid cat, and The Boy may have hostage taking regarding his Thomas the Train set down to an art form. I found this graphic, the Tale of Two Marches, that I think shows why this cold March is so frustrating for everyone, considering we had a March that felt like May last year, and this year it's more like January. Guess we had to pay the piper, but how much bitter-cold interest did we rack up with that?! I'd even be willing to take the snow, slush and rain (to ease the drought) if it would just warm up already! And yes I know if we're frying in July, I'll be complaining about that too. But I'm willing to take that chance.
